Before gaining access to Enable’s API Production interface, RSPs will be asked to perform some simple tests and provide evidence to Enable of results. Once Enable have reviewed and confirmed this requirement is satisfied, RSPs will be certified to use Enable’s APIs and access to the Production interface will be provided.
There are two areas that will be tested; IAM Authorisation and API messaging.
IAM Authorisation Test
Enable will provide RSPs with an admin account to Enable’s IAM (Okta) in a test environment and ask RSPs to create and configure an API system account. Once Enable have reviewed and confirmed this has been done correctly, the test is considered passed.
API Messaging Tests
RSPs will be asked to send a correctly constructed request to each of the API endpoints. Enable will confirm messages are as expected and will provide feedback.
Enable will also ask RSPs to test certain error conditions (e.g. by using non-existent FSL IDs) to ensure RSPs are confident in handling errors.
If an RSP is already familiar with the Chorus Production APIs (Line Test, Address Lookup, Broadband Availability), Enable is satisfied the RSP is comfortable with the responses and they will not be required to perform the API messaging tests. If an RSP is not familiar with the Chorus APIs, Enable will require the RSP to perform the conformance tests before certification will be provided. RSPs may decide to complete the conformance testing if they are already familiar with the Chorus Production APIs, in order to gain confirmation from Enable the application is functioning correctly.
